In this video, I will show how I went about repairing a valve off of a Frick steam traction engine. The valve, made from Monel (a nickle/copper alloy) was first welded up using Monel rods with a TIG welder. Next, a custom arbor was machined on my Monarch Model K metal lathe so that the valve seat would screw up on it. Then I re-faced the entire face, included the welded up areas using the metal lathe.
